MELROSE FIRE COMPANY INCORPORATED
A Non-profit 501(c)(3) Corporation
The Melrose Fire Department is made up of two separate entities, with members being part of both entities; The Melrose Fire Company Incorporated, and the Melrose Fire District make up The Melrose Fire Department.
The Melrose Fire District is the lawful authoritative organization of the Melrose Fire Department, whereas the Melrose Fire Company Inc. is the membership and social organization. The firematic and EMS members of the Melrose Fire Company inc. are under the authoritative jurisdiction of the Melrose Fire District. The Melrose Fire District is a legal Local Government Agency under New York State Law; defined as a Political subdivision and Special District. Company social members are not members of the Melrose Fire District.
Members of Melrose Fire District operate in one or many of the following disciplines: structural, vehicle and wildland fire suppression, rope rescue, technical rescue, swift water rescue, ice water rescue, search and rescue, extrication, hazmat, decontamination, FAST, emergency medical services and traffic control (Fire Police).
We are trained and certified through: FEMA, NYS DHSES OFPC, NYS DCJS, VFISu, NYS DEC,
